June 1 more
From the hike at Cascade Ponds we continued on a loop drive. Along the way we came across an unusually small hydro electric facility. When we stopped to take a look at it we saw this eroded bank that we thought you might like to see. We continued to Johnson Lake where we took another hike. This one was listed as a 20 minute hike but that must have been without a camera. The flowers I believe are sometimes called Ladyslippers. We had heard about them in Colorado but had never actually seen them. We had just finished the hike when we came across the Bighorn sheep. They seemed to be licking little wet spots in the road. I suppose that is their way of finding water in the wild but the blacktop didn't seem to discourage them. It really seemed strange to us since it was just up a small hill from the lake.
As we continued our drive past Two Jack Lake and then Lake Minnewanka we found the scenery continually changing but always beautiful. Another herd of bighorn sheep were there in front of Lake Minnewanka. Couldn't pass them up, they had babies with them.
From there we went to the campground. Figured you should see what kind of view you get for $38.50.
